Nowadays India is a country where the growth is one of the most important in the whole world. But a lot of people carry on thinking of India as a poor country. First we will focus on the fact that Indian is a modern country then we will see that this country still tied to the past.

First of all we can say that the polity of India is democracy which is very hard to find in countries belonging to the third world. Then we can also say that many sectors of activity are efficient such as Indian agriculture which is much better than China agriculture for comparison. Also, India is now ranked as the 9th largest industrial economy in the world. All those elements these elements tend to show us that India became a modern country.

On the other hand the fact that India still deeply rooted to the past is true. Indeed, the fact is that a huge part of the population is considered as poor. It’s a notion both powerful and weak. Furthermore too much differences exist in the Indian population. There are too much languages and religion in this country which create conflicts inside the population.

Nevertheless it is what characterize India: A country where many individual visions and inspirations coexist which characterizes modern India and offers the best hope for the nation and its people.
