Diabetes

Diabetes is level of glucose in the blood who are too high it’s due to a hormone called insulin absent in the body or not working, and which consequences on health. This illness affect a lot of people, in 2009 around 150 000 people were diagnosed. It’s the 4th causes of mortality in the developed countries.

Taux the norm in 0.8 to 1.20 gram/L

Their norm of glucose is over 1.20 gram/L

There are 2 types of diabetes frequently:

Type 1 = it affect mostly children any young people it comes brutaly. The body can’t produce any insulin so treih is a carrence.

Type 2 = it affect specify people like people overweight, people who are than 40 years old. In this case the body doesn’t make enough insulin. This illness is progressive.

This diabetes can be associate to cardiovascular factors.

Symptoms

for the types of diabetes symptoms are the same :

-thirst

-need to drink a lot

-need to go to the toilet often

-being tired for no reason

-weight loss

-genital itching and bouts of trush

-slow healing of wounds

-blurred vision

Complication of diabetes

-Cardiovascular illness

-Renal illness

-Neurological illness

-Amputation

-Problem of vision

Diabetes can deteriorate disability, reduce the life expectancy.

Treatment for diabetes

The goal of diabetes treatment is to keep blood sugar level as normal as possible

There are different types of treatment: insulin injection, insulin pump, oral medicines.

It’s important to notice that in type 2 diabetes people have to change their way of life, eat healthier, consume with moderation sweet food.

In general, they have to look after their eating habits, sports, norm of insulin, to watch if there are some complications which come. Not smoke, not drink alcohol. In this illness it’s very important to be educated about everything, risks, treatment… and to be follow regularly by a doctor.
