Stress is feeling we all experience when we are challenged or owerwhelmed. We recognise two types of stress, in the short time acute stress can be advantageous for our body, however acute stress can become a chronic stress condition if a person does not take steps to manage it.

Stress causes the body to flood with hormones that prepare it system to evade or confront danger. The body produces larger quantities of the chemicals cortisol and norepinephrine which tigger the following physical reactions: sweating, increased blood pressure, heightened muscle but also other symptoms : headaches,  nervous twitches, back or chest pain, cramps, muscles spasms, fainting.

According to the American psychological Association’s annual stress survey in 2018 average stress levels in the United States were 4,9 on a scale from 1 to 10. The causes of stress are 52% money, 27% Health, 15% family problems, 18% depression, 16% work. If stress becomes chronic, it can lead to several complications, including anxiety, burnout, you lose the control and lack of sleep but also heart disease and high blood pressure, lower immunity against diseases, muscular aches, sleeping difficulties or stomach upset.
