what’s Semiconductor?

The silicon wafer used in the semiconductor manufacturing industry can be processed into various circuit component structures, and it can be used as an IC product having a specific electrical function and is used in automobiles, mobile phones, computers, televisions, and manufacturing machines. Semiconductors are everywhere in our lives. It is the earliest part of the manufacturing process of the entire electronic industry. Semiconductors affect all relevant sectors, and can also observe the development trend of the whole information/ technology industry.

what’s Status of Semiconductor industry in Taiwan?

As far as Taiwan's semiconductor industry has been in the past years, semiconductor manufacturing has always occupied a critical position, which accounts for the highest proportion of Taiwan IC industry. For many years, Its industry relied on a complete industrial chain and advanced manufacturing. The strength is leading the world. With the advent of high-tech processes and the Internet of Things and the 5G generation, countries other than Taiwan, including China and India are still actively developing their own IC manufacturing energy, and also cast uncertain variables for future supply and demand. According to the IEK research of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, under the trend of smart Internet of Things, Taiwan's semiconductor industry has more opportunities in the following areas: Artificial intelligence, 5G wireless communication, Internet of Things, industrial 4.0, smart machinery, car networking. All those will stimulate the rise of Taiwan's IC design companies, win with innovative application services, drive the diversified development of the industry, and create a new wave of glory.

Taiwan's semiconductor industry is like a national economic symbol. With the take-off of information computers, smart phones and networked devices, the industry will flourish. In the future, in addition to continuing to cultivate the existing 3C electronics market, the government's “5+2 industry innovation plan” Driven by the innovative application of Wisdom, it is expected that by 2025, Taiwan's semiconductor output value will reach a milestone of NT$4 trillion.
