Dear Camille ,
How are you ?
I write this e-mail to tell you about my short trip in England !
During the holidays , while I was in France , the 8th of december, I went to London , in England, with my family.
We went there by car. The journey was very, very, very long and tiring because we drove for five hours and we didn't have any breaks but it was worth the while. Indeed, ones arrived in London, it was beautiful. There were a lot of people and amazing landscapes. We arrived the night and some lights illuminated the city. There were large houses and buildings and long streets. We were hosted by french friends who live in London since few years.
The next morning, we went by car visited Big Ben accompanied by our friends. These were voluntary to guide us to visit this. We saw a tower that grew at progressively as we walked . The clock began to ring so loudly that even more than 3 kilomètres we could hear.
It is situated next to Westminster Bridge and is adjacent to Parliament. The monument is golden and shiny and its architecture is beautiful. We could see some decor and writes very original. Stained glass were on the bottom of the tower and some windows on the top , but what we saw most was the big clock with his big needles who indicating the time.
For that , there were four dials, one on each side. We stayed several minutes, to admire. Many people were impressed as we. They watched, visited and took many photos of this extraordinary tower. We asked a guard if we could visit and he agreed. To achieve the belfry, the way was very complicated and tiring . It should go 335 steps and the floors were always the same each time with a window where you see more and more high. Once up, it was a new shock. We saw a gigantic bell that weighs about 13 tons. The mechanism was very interesting and really beautiful. The top view was unbelievable .
I know you would love to visit it !
The second day , we did almost obligatory stop at the Apple Store , it was very large , beautiful and unfortunately crowded but apple's in London are too expensive for buy anything .
Then quick lunch at a traditional pub in London with our friends , before a walk around the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge .
The Tower of London is in central London on the North bank of the River Thames , we didn't visit but from the outside it looked like an old building . I didn't really like this monument .
The Tower Bridge was more interesting because I had never walk on a bridge like that !
You know the best ? When I was walking on the amazing bridge , I met your dance teacher ! She asked me for your news .
The rest of the time we did a lot of shopping ( I will show you all acquisitions ) !
