One the one hand, I will talk about social progress with Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks and one the other hand I will study the technological progress like the social network.
We are going to start talking about the idea of progress who have had social progress. In this category, we can start by talking about a document will be a movie “Selma”, the movie was released on March 2015. It’s a chronicle of Martin Luther King's campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965. Martin Luther King was an African American clergyman, activist, and prominent leader in the American civil rights movement for peace and against poverty and the unforgettable true story chronicles the tumultuous three-month period in 1965, when Dr. Martin Luther King, led a dangerous campaign to secure equal voting rights in the face of violent opposition. The epic march from Selma to Montgomery culminated in President Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, one of the most significant victories for the civil rights movement. So, Martin Luther King wants to change the behavior of society, he wants to convince the population of the equal voting rights in America and especially the president Johnson. But you should know that there were other persons who played very important roles in the history of African-Americans like Rosa Parks, who inspired a generation to fight for civil rights, the same rights for all Americans, regardless of their color. Parks’ action showed how one person could make a big impact. She inspired others, including Martin Luther King, to use nonviolence and civil disobedience as a way to protest problems in society. Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks want to change things and give people a better world.
Therefore, there has been an evolution in the social status of Blacks. They went from slaves to U.S. President Barack Obama with thanks to people like Martin Luther King and his famous speech "I have a dream" fighting the idea of freedom and equality.
The women also fought for the right to vote and the male/female equality. They were designated as inferior to men.
So the time, fight and solidarity contribute to erase them.
There had therefore been a change in the quality of life, education, employment, family life and equality within society over the centuries.
In a second time, we are going to speak about the technological progress like Internet.
During many years, research and experiences of many scientists has result in technology advances.
I take for example Internet. It was created in the seventies and has revolutionized the world. Almost everything we do in our life today, from communication, study, work and leisure, needs the Internet. It is fast and simple to use.
Now we have also Internet on our phones. So we have Internet everywhere
