Good morning !
I’m going to talk about the notion of myths and heroes.
FIRST OF ALL, a myth is a story that may or may not be true. some myths may have started as ‘true’ stories but as people re-told them some parts may have been changed by mistake, or to make them more interesting. Mythology includes the legends of our history, our religions, stories of how the world was created, and our heroes. These stories have a great symbolic power.
A hero is a person who is admired for his courage, or noble qualities. It can be the main character in a book or a film or a person with superhuman qualities. It can also be a modern-day hero, a person who has performed a heroic act or simply our own personal hero, our role model, who we look up to.
So, do you think that myths and heroes can teach us a lesson?
I WILL FIRST DEAL WITH Nelson Mandela who inspired his nation in the poursuit of equality and freedom AND THEN WITH Mrs Sotto, a young teacher who saved her pupils from a gunman. FINALLY I’m going to talk to Lassana Bathily, this employee in the kosher supermarket who saved customers’lives.

Nelson Mandela is an hero of the world. He was a South African politician and activist. He was made the first President of South Africa elected in a fully represented democratic election. He was the first black President of his country. Nelson Mandela advocated the abolition of the laws of apartheid. The report of the American channel CNN shows the last honor for Nelson Mandela. People dance and sing funeral songs reserved for Nelson Mandela. All present people are moved in tears but happy finally which he can finally rest in peace. All have for him a profound feeling of gratitude for all that Mandela sacrificed for them and what he fought. The whole nation is united around Mandela and honor their rescuer, their hero.
The topic which affected me most is on December 14, 2012 when Victoria Soto died a hero as she protected her students from Adam Lanza, shielding the children by putting herself between them and the gunman. Plans and petitions to honor this amazing person by name via scholarships, roads, and schools were announced in late 2012 and 2013.
Ms Soto was one of four adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School who sacrificed themselves for the childrens.
