What is a good life?

Some people leave their country to have a "better life", some radically change their lifestyle and others leave everything with no explanation.

I wonder if having a good life means having a happy family, a job that pays well, nice vacations and good friends.

Or, to have a good life, you have to leave all those habits behind and go on an adventure.

Does having a good life necessarily require long and complicated studies ? Or can you have a good life doing nothing ?

It's like happiness. Do we really know when we've reached it ? Or maybe it's only when something tragic happens that we realize just how happy we've been.

The goal of life is to achieve happiness, but how ?

Honestly, there isn’t a good definition of a good life. It is so personal.

First, people don’t have all the same hobbies and pleasures : they might love football or cooking, they may want to travel or to earn a lot of money.

A relevant question may be : do we need other people to have a good life ? Do we need to made things or happiness is likely to be find in our own mind ?

Furthermore, you underline that the goal of life is to achieve happiness and you’re asking how. I don’t agree. I mull that the real question is : is the goal of life to achieve happiness, especially that there isn’t one single definition ?

Obviously, we prefer have fun and be smiling rather than cry and feel broken. However, a life without sadness and difficulties isn’t a bland life ? Isn't it overcoming difficulties that makes life ?
