I do believe that earning a lot of money is fair as long as we worked hard for it. Indeed, I do think that, that way, when buying something new or giving back to other, it is much more rewarding than if you did not worked thoroughly for it.

However, I do also believe that some people might work as hard as they can without ever earn proportionally to what they are actually doing. Thereby, I do think that money should be more redistributed to cancel out these differences.

Yet, I also understand why millionaires or billionaires want to create charities to give back. Indeed, that way they exactly know where their money goes to and they feel directly concerned with how it affects the life of the poorest, or the sickest people in the world, or the life of the most endangered animals. Also, they can be a part of the actions their charity sets up and go “on the spot” to see for themselves what is going on and the impact of these actions.

Nonetheless, I do still believe that the redistribution through taxes is very important because it can affect even more people and creating charities should not allow philanthropists not to pay their taxes. In fact, I feel like these charities are sometimes used by wealthy people to make sure that their money isn’t used in taxes and that they can keep it, even though it might be done by a minority.
