C: Hi how are you today? I can see that you feel disappointed

P: Hi I’m good , It’s just because I ask myself on sport competition at school and I find this very interesting to know the advice of others peoples to see if you have the same . What do you think about this?

C: I think that for my part, the competition keep motivated pupils all along of the activity and develop their team work more easily than if they were just in an exercise. I see a football competition yesterday and the fact that stroke me was that they were really focused in their plays more than at school. In a school class they are more distract. Sometimes they don’t want to be focus.

P: Yes that true the competition can have positive aspect in certain case but I think that they are too young. But if in class they are not focus you can imagine situations that bring motivation to the children’s. I feel bad when I see losers in EP.  I work to avoid the school drop and bring knowledge not to win a cup.

C: Maybe in some instances, it’s to the teacher to make attention to the drifts. At any rate, the competition prepare the pupils to end with their difficulties. And in certain case that can help in the real life. Because when you are in the real world you have to see it as a competition. If you don’t work you don’t win that what I’m trying to tell them.

P: I don’t have the same opinion and can’t agree with your vision of physical education, for me the competition give good feeling to the winners but the losers can feel bad about losing.
As you know in a competition there is more loser that winners then for me competition can’t be worth to children’s.
You don’t feel good when you lose something even if you are an adult so for a young children he will lose his self-confidence so fast.

C: Yes but it’s only a minority of pupils. That’s why the teacher should always stay vigilant. At any rate, the competition allows to the pupils to raise a challenge, what will allow them to progress most quickly.

P: Yeah, I think that we both have right, competition is good for the children but not in all the case so why we don’t just make them choose by their self if they want to play a sport in competition. We have to help them if they want it but if they don’t let them be better by practising in EP and I’m pretty sure that by practising they will win confidence and they may start competition at this time.

C: Yes that sure it can be a way to teach them sport at school but why we don’t do a competition between everybody in the school like a cross country running. It can have many benefit running is always good.

P: It’s true that a good idea mate I’ll tell the others teacher to find a date. A cross country running is for me a perfect example of a competition that you can do in school because they will run against the entire school not the class. I was wrong in a way competition can have benefits.

C: I was wrong too after the competition that I see I was going to do only completion in EP but you right I will forget to bring them knowledge and without it you can’t bring motivation. Before competitions you have to practise and feel ready. That will be suicide if we sent children up there without skills.

P: Sorry I have to go I do tennis with my 1st year of high school at 10 I’ll tell you for the run bye

C : Okay bye
