India is a giant , a large demographic power (more than 1 , 2 billion) , democratic, economic and military , rich in natural resources ... thus making it a major global player for years to come.

Why India is integrated into globalization, but is yet considered a developing country ?

1] The return of India on the international economic scene

In 1991 , India has opted out of a closed and very protectionist implemented after its accession to independence (1947) and integrate its economy to globalization by liberalizing the economy. The government of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has put an end to the licensing system that forced Indian companies to obtain administrative authorization for any major decision . And since India continues to ramp up .

Since this radical change in the economic sense , economic growth in India, depending on the year , between 6 and 8% ( it was 1.5 % in France in 2010).

- India has several major international companies: Tata , for example, from Indian steel giant , held its global strategy around three main points: steel, automotive and IT. This is the automotive industry , which in recent years, the most talked about it, with the release of the Nano, a new cheap car .

- India is a country with trade in goods with other countries have been rising steadily since the 90s . In 2005, Indian exports accounted for 1.5 % of global merchandise trade . It is estimated that by 2015 they will account for 3.5 %, which is modest . India is the world's largest exporter of IT services, generic and business services .

- India is also a country considered a state with potential for foreign investors ( a democracy, a highly skilled workforce but less expensive than the Triad ... ) . However, these investments are not as important as what the country expected (10 times less than China, for example ) .

2] A state that still has many of the characteristics of the South

Since 1991 , India has developed significantly . The living conditions of some of the population has improved. The opening of the Indian economy to globalization has created a new middle class which has 50 to 70 million people , which now has the means to consume, have , for some, access to property , or less to buy a vehicle to move, a television set, electrical appliances ... So we can say that the integration of India in globalization, resulting in unprecedented growth in the country has contributed to improving the well -being of a large part of its inhabitants. Indeed , growth has generated several million creations various jobs. However, these advances that affect millions of people could not prevent growing inequalities between the richest and the 400 million Indians who live in extreme poverty . If 35 million Indians earn more than $ 1,000 per month , 380 million of them survive on $ 1 a day.

If famines disappeared , malnutrition , lack of access to clean water and health care , poverty continues to be widespread in India.

3 . The social cost of the integration of the countries emerging globalization

Behind the average national economic and financial successes should not obscure the fact that globalization , India,
