New York

I have chosen for my report New York because it seems to be a fascinating city.

New York is the principal town of the United States situated on the east coast. The city is situated at 7 hours from France.

If I say : Fifth Avenue , the Statue of Liberty , the Empire State Building , the Rockefeller Center , Ellis Island , Brooklyn , The Big Apple ... you’ll answer : “New York City”, of course.

New York has been the most populous city in the United States since 1790.

The official language is English, but a lot of people speak different language like Spanish, Chinese, and Italian.

New York's nickname is « The Big Apple ».

The city has five boroughs:

 The Bronx,

 Manhattan,

 The Queens

 Staten Island. : (montrer sur la carte)

They are richest in Manhattan than in Harlem. But Queens and Staten Island are middle classes.

Manhattan is the richest and the most famous borough. It’s also the financial center of the country with the Stock Exchange in Wall Street.

The Fifth Avenue is considered as one of the main you shopping streets in the world. It’s like the Champ Elysée in Paris. On this avenue you can found shops like Sephora, Chanel and the Apple Store.

In New York there are a lot of famous monuments: the Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building, The Brooklyn Bridge and many more.

There are also a lot of museums:

 The Metropolitan Art Museum,

 The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA),

The city has a lot of park. Many are is Manhattan like:

 Central Park who is the most visited park in the U.S. The height of the park is like you can put Monaco in.
