Lately I've been noticing a number of my teammates are confused about what Abathur does, to the point of actually hurting our performance in the match (ie. stopping mid-teamfight to ask what the bug thing is on their head.) If you've never played Abathur and are confused about him, here's the main points you should know:

1. Abathur can't take a punch - he MUST stay in a safe location and often stays in the base rather than in a lane. If your Abathur is doing this, please don't give them too much of a hard time about not being in a lane - depending on the situation, it might not be safe for them to do so.

2. A friendly Abathur can put a Symbiote on your head, which looks like this. If you have this, it means Abathur can give you a moderate shield and shoot out damaging spikes from your location. Depending on Abathur's talents, you might also get heals/attack speed boost/other benefits.

3. If you have the Symbiote, being close to your target will make it easier for Abathur to hit them. Keep in mind that he can shield you too, so you have a bit more survivability than normal (but you're also not invincible.)
