Hello today we are going to introduce you to the various things of the life of Nat turner.

What is an ‘abolitionist’ ?An abolitionist, as the name implies, is a person who sougth to abolish slavery during the 19th (nineteenth) century. More specifically, these indivuals sougth the immediate and full émancipation of all enslaved people. Most early abolitionist were white, religious Americans, but some of the movement were also Black men and women who had escaped from bondage.
Waht is an ‘abolitionist movement’ ? The abolitionist movement was organized effort to end the practice of slavery in the United States.

The first leaders of the campaign, wich took place from about 1830 to 1870, mimicked some of the same tatics British abolitionist had used to end slavery in Great Britain in the 1830. Though it started as a movement with religious underpinnings abolitionism became a controversial political issue that divided much of the country Supporters and critics often engaged in heated debates and violent- even deadly – confrotation the divisiveness and animosity fueled by the movement, along with other factors, led to the Civil War and ultimately the end of slavery in America.

Nat Turner’s full name is Nathaniel Turner. Nat Turner was born in 1800 more precisely on October 2 in Virginia in the town of Southampton County in the Northeastern United States. Nat Turner died at 31 on November 11, 1831, still in Virginia but this time in the city of Jerusalem, now calling Courtland.

Yes, he was a slave, he rebelled in hiding for more than two months. He hid from the beginning of the revolt in October and came out in November. He was captured and hanged on November 11.
