This is my campain poster for John Fitzgerald Kennedy. He was the president of the USA between 1960 and 1963 during the cold war and was a democrat and valued progress and equality

I choose this president because he supported desegragation and contributed to the development of space exploration. He also was the youngest president elected so he represented a new generation of leadership.

I choose the hope of a new frontier as a slogan because the term new frontier was used by Kennedy during his famous speech  in the 1960 United States presidential election to the Democratic National Convention at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.  He said

We stand today on the edge of a New Frontier—the frontier of the 1960s, the frontier of unknown opportunities and perils, the frontier of unfilled hopes and unfilled threats. We can deduce that Kennedy wanted progress and exploration

The backgroung of the poster is the american flag that represents national unity. It is composed of strips that represent the original states and the fifty stars the actual states

More specificly space exploration. Indeed he contributed to the Space Race between USA  and the Soviet Union.

Kennedy planned to send astronautes to the moon before the end of the decade since he was under pressure because Soviet Union managed to send the first astonaut  in space in the world  on april 12th 1961 So they created the Appolo project that became a reality in 1969 .There is even nowdays the Kennedy space center that is called after him because the Appolo mission was held there

That’s why I choose the moon and a rocket as symbols of that .

As you can see, I also put the image of Martin Luther king during his famous speech I have a dream. The president supported him during his speech and contributed to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He endorsed a lot this movement for example during the University of Mississipi crisis in 1962. It was a racial riot  ( emeute) and  John F. Kennedy eventually quelled the riot by mobilizing more than 30.000 troops, the most for a single disturbance in United States history.

Including Martin Luther King Jr. on both sides of the poster emphasizes the importance of civil rights in Kennedy’s platform. It highlights the partnership and shared goals between Kennedy’s administration and the civil rights movement. Placing King on both sides could symbolize balance and unity, reinforcing the theme of national unity and the fight for equality, which were key aspects of the era.

Finally, Kennedy played an important role in the cuban crisis. He created a naval blockade  and negociated with the soviet president to conclude to a peacful solution
