What is the human auditory acuity ?

So this is the frequencies bandwidth perceptible to the human ear and their percibility threshold

The individuals are not equal in the hearing. A number of factors influence the acoustic perception of each one

the age (acoustic sensitivity usually decreases with age);

the predisposition (heredity); if u'r mother have hearing problems you can probably have it also later

the education of the ear (you can learn to perceive what was imperceptible to you before if you train a bit).

A standard has emerged that the human ear perceives sounds with frequencies between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz. This normalization does not match the reality of the psychoacoustics of each one, it is only an average.

I found this picture that i want to show you it's a picture that show the spectrum of sounds used by people to speak those languages.

Now the auditory acuity of our friends : cats and dogs

The auditory acuity of a cat !

Cats are one of the animals with the sharpest ear , they can hear frequencies up to 60 khz and a lot low frenquencies

The auditory acuity of a dog

Dogs can hear frequencies up to 50 khz

and with low intensity they can hear things up to 5 times farther than us which can explain that they know before everyone when their master come back to house.

And now we are going to do a litlle test :
