At first in 1937, the brother Richard and Maurice McDonald opened a stand of hot dogs called "Airdome" to Arcadia, in California. Then in 1940 they moved their Airdome (included building) to San Bernardino, in California, and renamed it " restoring McDonald’s " on May 15th.

The menu was constituted in 25 articles, mainly cooked in the steakhouse. And as it was current at that time, they had used approximately 20 valets. The restaurant became a very popular meeting place for the young people, and very profitable for his owners.

After that, eight years later, they noticed that most of their income resulted from hamburgers; both brothers closed their "restaurant" for several months to develop a system innovating the system of service.

The card was reduced to the offer that 80% of the consumers who were used to commanding (hamburgers, soft drink, milk, coffee, chips and cake), whereas the dishes were replaced by plates and cardboard tumblers. The valets were replaced by a counter.

Then in 1953, the brother McDonald decided to franchise their "restaurant". Neil Fox was the first franchisee and who presented the drawing of the golden arcs (trained by the letter M).

Finally in 1984, McDonald’s made sound to enter France.
