My dear great-great-grandchild, you probably don’t even know who I am, and it would be totally normal since neither will I ever know who you are. Between the moment when I’m writing this email and the day you’ll receive it, a century will probably pass. I am writing to you to give you a taste of the era I’m living in right now, in 2024. Nowadays are quite a mess; it's both a dawn of peace but also of conflict. In some areas like Europe, there haven’t been many issues for decades, but in the Middle East, it keeps getting worse. But luckily, I'm not being affected by those troubles. I don’t really have problems at the moment; I just go to school, do the work the teachers expect me to do, have a great time with my friends like Pierre, Lucie, or Lana. And come back home to have some fun time, through reading books, for example, "Dune," a masterpiece and the real start of the Science Fiction as we know it. But I also like to paint miniatures, those are from the Warhammer 40k franchise, and there is one with the letter, not my very best but still a pretty good one! I love painting them again and again for hours; time flies without me noticing. But I'm also fond of video games; that's the reason why I built my own computer to play those games. And for a more practical use outside, I use a phone. These devices must have changed so much; I can’t even imagine what your phone would look like.

I have so many questions about the future, but I’ll probably never find their answers. Will we be able to fix the climate and not warm our only home even more than it is already? Most people of my age are protesting in the streets about it or with social media, trying to change the minds of some governments that are ignoring this problem. So if I really had one thing to fear, it would be that we destroy our home just by ourselves. I also hope I’ll still be able to have quality time in the future, keeping the bonds between me and my family, something I hope you’ll do too. Your family is one of the most important things in your life; they will always be here for you, whatever you could do. Don’t be afraid to rely on them! They are supposed to be the most trustworthy people in the world. And I guess if you are reading this, it means I found a girl that is as trustworthy as my family. It hasn’t happened yet, but patience is a virtue, and good things happen to those who wait, as the proverb says. I included a paper version of Dune, a little toy and a lego miniature since i’m a big fan of it, one of my first ever so take care of it !
