Flower of the field is a painting by Louis Janmot in 1845 and in the Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon. This is an oil painting, it measures 103 cm by 83 cm. It is presented in a broad framework gilded. The girl is in the center. She bust right, face tilted to the left and down. She is wearing a pink and green dress, like a coat of the Italian Renaissance. A piece of red cloth is placed on his lap. Her face is soft, smooth and clear. She has black Hair and a ring of smells. Its air is thoughtfully. She is very graceful. His right hand holds some flowers: buttercups, daisies, cornflowers. His left hand take a bouquet of red poppies. There behind a shrub. All around the girl grow grass. Yellow and blue butterflies fly. In the background there is broad plain to the hills and mountains. Pink clouds near the hills. The sky is still light blue. The girl feel melancholic.
Anne-François-Louis Janmot, born and died in Lyon in 1814 and in 1892, is a painter and poet. In 1831 he was admitted to the School of Fine Arts of Lyon and a year later, it won the highest award, the Golden Laurel. In 1833 he went to Paris to study painting classes with Victor Orsel. He went to Rome to discover Italian art. His major work is The Poem of the Soul, set consisting of 18 paintings and 16 drawings which occupies over forty years. A poem to 3000, also written by Louis Janmot. This vast narrates the life of a soul on Earth, embodied in a young man, accompanied by his women's doubles. Then the work is the life of man left alone after the death of his wife, which would identify the artist. Charles Baudelaire is a fan of him.
