In support of my opinion, i’m going to introduce myself. I’m Lilian Dahan, I worked for the NASA 10years, and now i

In our time, conquest of space plays a key role in competitiveness of developed countries. United States,Russia or China, for example, owe a part of their prestige to space exploration, but nowadays, the desire to explore more slows down the progress of space travel.

We can ask ourselves if there are any limits to space exploration.

From my viewpoint, the only limit is technology.

First, the technology’s price. In order to succeed in space exploration, we are compelled to resort to expensive technologies. This massive expense reduces the funding of space researches and consequently limits space travel. Indeed, did you know that the last rover sent on Mars cost almost 1billion dollars ? That is why I think technology is a limit, and if only the technological aspect of space researches was cheaper, we could fund different projects and maybe go to Mars soon.

The second limit is technological innovation. Current technology doesn’t enable to reach planets like Mars and to explore completely our galaxy to find Earth-like planets because distances are extremely long and as a consequence, time to get to these planets would be too long. Let’s remember that Earth is located at light years of other planets and for instance, going to the Sun would take several tens of years. The problem is that planets similar to Earth are situated further and further away than the Sun, and so it would take a lifetime to reach them.

To conclude, space exploration is one of the major issue nowadays, but some obstacles are putting limits to space researches improvement, like the technology.
