The amish a strange community :

In the firts part, i will talk about the origins of the amish,

In the second part, i will talk about how amish live,

At the end, i will explain, why i chose an amish,

The Amish began as a group in Switzerland. During the first half of the 18th century, several hundred Amish migrated to Pennsylvania to flee religious persecution christian community. To start the new life in the United-States. Today there are twice as many Amish as there were two decades ago. Amish live in the three states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indiana, and Ontario.

He Amish have no telephone, no radio, no TV, no stereo. Letters are a prime form of communication.

Most Amish live by farming but do not use tractors. They think the most mechanized they become, the more they are drawn away from the simplicity of Christ. Neighbours help one another, when one of them has to build a barn, everybody helps.

Most Amish schools have one room and one teacher for all eight grades. Subjects consist of basic reading, writing and arithmetic.

The Amish do not own or drive cars; they use horse-drawn buggies instead. they have observed that since the invention of cars, people have become more self-centered. Consequently, they have grown suspicous of motor vehicles which isolate people more than buggies.

The typical Amish man wears black hat, a long bear; long hair because there is no barber.

The typical Amish women has a long scarf on her hair because peoploe can't see hair and legs and she has a long dress.

Personally, it is not possible to live with the amish because it's because it's very different between my world. I chose the Amish because i like to discover new cultures and i liked to watch the film "Witness" which shows the living conditions of the amish.
