SUBJET : Write about the part of the presidential elections that you least appreciated.

The Senegalese presidential election was organized the 24 February 2019.This election had opposed five candidates : Macky Sall the outgoing president , Ousmane Sonko the young revolutionary, Idrissa Seck et Madické Niang the deans of Senegalese politic and El Hadj Issa Sall. On the whole, it was fairplay and calm but there are few things which have deeply disturb me.

The Senegalese election was relatively peaceful but on some point it was very weird. Indeed, I was extremely suprised when i hear to the radio that the  provisional result  will be know only four days after the election. Even if i am young and apolitical, I think it is the first time in Senegalese history that provisional result took so much time to me knows. What was reasons ? We really don’t sûre about the reasons but some suppositions are made. In fact, some people says it caused by a technical problem. It can be truth bearing in mind the fact that our election isn’t yet computerized but I am not entirely convinced by this possibility. Other people think that this lateness is due to the problem between benno bokk yakhar the Macky’s political party which proclaim their victory to the first ballot and coalition Idy 2019 political party of Idrissa Seck claim that the latter passes to the second ballot. Other think that was just a stratagem for stealing the election and it is really possible in view of the situation of our democracy nowadays. In effect, no more freedom of expression, no more political ideology freedom, in other words we are under a disguised dictatorship.

What really bothers me in this story is the passivity of the Senegalese who did nothing to change the situation. I speak mostly of the young people who behind their screens under pseudonyms call themselves nationalists but when the opportunity arises for show their patriotism, they don’t have the courage to say high what they really think.

To conclude, I thinks even if in general the presidential election was relatively well organized and calm, we have to improve some aspects of our way of proceeding  and to change others.
