I What are the issues of consumer society?
- First, the effects on the environment are noxious. Consumerism is destroying our planet. In our actual society the requests are numerous so the need to produce these goods increases. This leads to more pollution, deforestation and accelerate climate change. To produce a lot, the farming use pesticides which are dangerous for the health of the planet and our lives.
- What’s more, there is an overconsumption. A lot of people buy things that they don’t need and change new objects. They are also leaded by fashion and don’t care about the effect of buying and buying every time.
- Besides, we buy a lot of food we don’t need or in excess. We also throw in the dustbin hugely edible food that can help person in poverty, who don’t have enough money to nourish his family.
We can say that the issues of consumerism are numerous. There are environment and social problems, but everybody can fight against these issues.

- However, we can fight against consumerism by buying vegetables without pesticides and take some seasonal fruits.
- Furthermore, social networks can help to prevent against overconsumption like the video “the good consumer”. This is an ironic video which give us the bad examples. In fact, we don’t have to follow fashion and we can recycle old objects to protect the Earth against climatic changes. That’s possible to buy from a second hand.
- Additionally, we can help people in poverty by associations and to be careful about what we buy. Do we really need that or do we want it just because it’s fashion? There are a lot of movement against overconsumption, for example the freeganism which is a practice and ideology of limited participation in the conventional economy and minimal consumption of resources, particularly through recovering wasted goods like food.

To sum up, the issues of consumption are numerous in the world but we can find a lot of ways to fight against and to protect the environment or to help the others.
