A Superhero is a being with extraordinary physical or mental powers, far beyond the range of normal human ability, who uses these powers to protect the innocent and for the general good.People have always related and have been inspired  by the myth of the superhero even though times have changed and people too.Why do people continue to relate to the myth of the superhero?

First of all people have always related to them because they raise ordinary people to heroic status,they make them look more special when the do heroic acts,a really good example is Alex Ross's comic on the aftermath of the 9/11,Alex makes superman look ridiculous in front of all these real heroes that are present in our daily life like Firemans, Police Officers,Doctors,Nurses.They've always been there to help us although Superman is only present for the big heroic moment not for little problems like someone felling sick or someone needing police assistance.This kind of things help us to find new types of role models who can inspire us.They are the modern-day superheroes.

Secondly we relate to them because they expresss society's shifting values,they are the perfect example of the perfect citizen and the actual society where he is fighting crime and disasters.Captain America for example shows the shifting values of the second world war American society.He is patriotic,always willing to fight for his country,also the symbol of capitalism fighting against fascism who is trying to destroy Europe.But nowadays he has had to adapt to the American society who is not fighting other coutries enymore but his own society,corrupted by money and power Captain America has become more of a soldier he doesn't need to be patriotic enymore,people don't need to stick together enymore,they have to fight corruption and crime.

Last but not less important people still relate to them because it makes them share a common passion they can share the passion for this superhero or a certain number of his comics.One big event that really helps to bring together all this comic lovers is the San Diego Comic-Con created in 1970 as a convention for comic fans in Sothern California but this event has grown since then,it has become the focal point for the world of comic conventions,all the unexpected news about comics or movies about about superheroes are presented there.

We can conclude that superheroes are the inspiration of the nation,they help to bring everyone together and make us feel more important when we do certain things like helping  people from the neigbourhood or from other countries.They embody every aspect we wish we had.But is this also hapening when this comics are moved to the big screen or all this values are lost on the way?
