Would you say the representation of women is better today than the past ?

The representation of women over time has evolved a lot. For instance, women have been seen as inferior or even as mean for men to increase their virility since ancient times. In the Middle Ages the woman's body was considered a taboo, following the words of Genesis "He said to the woman: I will increase the suffering of your pregnancies, you will give birth with pain, and your desires will be directed towards your husband, but he will rule over you ”.Women were denied the right of succession and political authority in the 14th century, when they were already severely oppressed. Following that, in the 18th century, women started to express themselves, and progressive women such as Olympe de Gouges appeared. But the codes of the time still locked them in a role of submission, they have to get their father's or husband's permission for something they want to do.

As a result of these facts, it is important to compare and contrast the women's representation and rights that have just been defined with those that we can see now.In certain nations, such as the United States, where abortion is banned, women's representation and rights are still mixed.Women in the West did not have the ability to dispose of their bodies until the twentieth century. Women continue to be under-represented in politics, with only one woman prime minister in France. Women represent 334 of the 925 deputies or senators, just under half of the total. Women now have access to their rights and do not need parental or marital permission to dispose them. From the age of majority she can be independent, because of this, women generally receive 15.8% less than men on a net pay.

Women's image is also very sexualized, as can be seen by all of the recent protests developed to help women to dress and do as they wish. Many remarks are also made in schools on young girls' clothing because it is considered too "distracting" or "explicit.". Many comments have been made about it; the sexualization of a woman's body victimizes her, and sentences like "Educate your sons to protect your daughters" stand out. Because many adults also want to hide a woman's body rather than teach young men what is and is not acceptable conduct. By attaching the woman in continual terror, these acts close her off and denude her of certain rights.

To conclude, yes, women are better represented today than they were in the past, they have acquired rights, and they can claim their independence, but that is not all. There is still a long way to go before the she is placed on a fair system with the men. He continues to fight for this to change. According to studies, it will take 217 years to close the gender gap entirely.

Better education for a better life.
