Environmental awareness at school

-Concrete awareness : children are actors in schools → activities concerning the

nature. For example doing compost, planting trees, taking care of a vegetable garden

-Focus more the lessons on environmental matters, include ecological topics

-Set up different ways to learn at school : there are no more books but digital tablets

→ because they began to learn with this equipment, it’s not a toy

→ reduce paper waste and thus the deforestation

Transport

Nearly 80% of air pollution in Spain is due to road transport. It is one of the most polluting countries in Europe. But they are taking action. They are developing as much as possible the infrastructure and means of transport to reduce pollution and environmental impact. They encourage the use of bicycles, with the development of bicycle paths and the establishment of bicycle loan companies. → Bycicle everywhere in Barcelona. They develop pedestrian centre in lot of cities like in Madrid. The various means of public transport are being modernized to reduce pollutant gas emissions.

They are trying to encourage electric vehicles. For example, they financed an electric mobility project in Megalla with 200 electric vehicles and installed 250 charging stations for electric

cars.

Their goal is to prevent new generations by instilling ecological values in them. Most of them do not need that and the rate of people passing the licence has decreased significantly. They added questions on environmental impacts in the code test.
