Barack Hussein Obama II, born August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii, became President of the United States of America.

Barack Obama is the first African-American post, the historic event that embodies the dream of US civil rights activist Martin Luther King.

Son of a black Kenyan and a white American from Kansas, he managed to avoid the pitfall of the racial question [3]. His career has elicited among voters and in the media around the world.

Born in Hawaii, raised for several years in Indonesia, graduated from Columbia University and Harvard Law School, in 1990 he was the first African-American to preside over the prestigious Harvard Law Review. A community organizer in English, Chicago, during the 1980s, then a civil law lawyer after graduating from Harvard, he taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago from 1992 to 2004.

Barack Obama said he was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1997 and 2004. He was elected to Parliament, as a Democratic Party nomination candidate. 2000 but gets it in March 2004 for the United States Senate. Barack Obama distinguished himself by early opposition to the war launched by George W. Bush in Iraq and the speech he made in July 2004 at the Democratic convention that signed John Kerry for the first time nationally.

Elected senator in November 2004, he declared his candidacy to the Democratic investor for the presidency of the United States on February 10, 2007 in Springfield. He won the primaries at Hillary Clinton and was nominated as a candidate at his party's convention in Denver on August 27, 2008.

After spending 52.9% of the vote and 365 electors on November 4, 2008, the presidential election against Republican John McCain, Barack Obama takes office on January 20, 2009.

His presidency comes amidst a war in Iraq, a war in Afghanistan, a crisis in the Middle East, a major recession in the US economy, and a global financial and economic crisis.
