The transcontinental Railroad

The transcontinental railroad is really important for the development of the American continent during the 19th century. It impacted many fields such as technology, social, economy and cultural. It reached the technological sector because all the industries of iron, coal, steel were stimulated, there were new technologies like, the electric lamp, the steam locomotive, everything was going faster now. It helped to created job, to travel more easily and more faster! It also affected the social domain because the transcontinental railroad allowed Americans to transport themselves from coast to coast, to see their families or to enable their ideas of travel. It helped to connect the country together, connect the newspapers to be informed of what was going on at the opposite side of the land. The development of the transcontinental railroad touched the economics to expand the business and helped the United States to be a global economy. Finally, the cultural field allowed a new country to be built, it also helped to create a new continental culture. The transcontinental railroad was a big evolution for all the Americans, it helped all the country to improve.

Hello everyone and thanks for coming.

Today I wrote a speech to convince all of you about a project that I have. Maybe you already know, but a revolutionary invention is coming, the transcontinental railroad. I want to propose the town, our town for being a stop for this train, to be on the route of this wonder. I know what you’re saying: Why? Maybe they are drawbacks like the noise for example, but I have a solution for every problem that we will have. The noise of the train, I though that the train can stop next to the city and not into the city. Everything will be fine. You are still not convinced? it’s because I don’t tell you all the benefits that you will have with this train!

To begin, it will create job for the construction and after, at the station, we also can create a coal industries for it! All the economy of our little city will grow up because we will be able to trade with many city around the country. The transcontinental railroad will allow you to transport yourself from coast to coast around the land easily and quicker! We will be connect with all the country. We will have news from our family who’s living at the east! How can I convinced you better? It’s the best things to do, can we vote now?
