The Tiananmen massacre

The massacre take place on Tiananmen square in Beijing, the capital of the peoples republic of china.  The massacre take place from April 15 1989 to june the 4 1989. In the movement, there is students, intellectuals and chinese workers. During this period the political regime was Chinese Communist Party. What triggers is the march were sparked by the death on April 15 of Hu Yaobang, a reformist figure of the chinese communist party. During manifestations the protesters want social equality, freedom of expression and freedom of the press.

For protest, the protesters  occupe tiananmen square, and they carry out the strike of hunger.

We have chosen this picture because for us, she really represent the massacre of tiananmen square, she represent the moment when the government respond to protesters introducing the martial law on 20, 1989 and brought in the army, Martial law is the establishment in a country of an exceptional judicial state, in which the army maintains order in place of the police.
