I – When I say « Jordan », what is your first thought?

Jordan, moreover than being a personality and a famous business man, he is automatically identified to the Chicago Bulls, so to the NBA.

II – What is the NBA?

National Basketball Association in USA. It is a national basketball championship and it’s very difficult to be a part of. The regular season count 82 games. Then there’s the playoff.

Adam Silver is the CEO since February 2014.

The NBA league counts 30 teams and two conferences: Eastern and Western Conferences. This separation is important for the main event like the all-star game or the playoff (Explain the picture of the playoff)

III – Nba profits

The NBA franchise is worth now 1.36 billon of dollars. A 3.5 increase over the last 5 years.

There are many ways for the NBA franchise to make Money

1st: The team. They are valuable by 4 standards:

• The sport: the level of play. This part goes to the NBA
• The market: the money goes to the team’s city because of the ad in the street and the event, etc
• The Arena: the sold realized in it goes to the NBA too
• The Brand: The shirt, hat and goodies, all the benefits goes to the team

The Most valuable team of the NBA is the New York Knicks with a total of 3.3 Billion of dollar realized

Then there is the LA Lakers with 3Billion and finally GS Warriors which realized an increase compared to the last year.

More the team is strong and famous, more it will make benefits but we have some teams like Cleveland Cavaliers who can’t realize it. Even if their standards are good, the pay slip of players like Lebron James or Kevin Love are too big for making benefits.

The big event like the All-star Weekend allows the NBA to make a lot of benefits

The All-Star Weekend is a 3 day Show of the NBA where there are many contest where the best in each categories fight. We have the slam dunk contest, the 3 pts contest and the All-star game.

Everybody wants to watch it on real and the NBA knows it. So the price of a place are more expansive than a regular game. But since there are a lot of personalities coming there, people are envious to get there.

IV – Player who created their own profits by their rates in the NBA league

Why are some players more payed than the other? Because their performance during the games are impressive. They deserve it, the NBA is a competition.

Their performance allow them to be known by the audience and to be put in front of the stage

The NBA will use them for their own profits and vice versa. Players make Money because of their rate in the NBA by selling items, like Shoes or accessories. We have a lot of player like Jordan who got their own shoes brand.

But the advertisement are payed by the NBA. So in exchange, the Nba earn a part of their profits to make them theirs.

Those player are like the NBA’s “Show window”

Conclusion

To conclude, we can see that the NBA has a real impact on the economy because without it, the American trade will lose a lot of money. The NBA is a real money maker.
