THE BEATLES CAREER

Hello my name is Océane and I will talk to you about the Beatles career. In the first part I will present the members and the group. In the second part I will talk about the history of the group. In the last part I will say why I like the Beatles.

The group and the members:

The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members were: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. John Lennon was born on 9 October 1940 in Liverpool he died on 8 December 1980, he was the singer. Paul McCartney was born on 18 June 1942 in Liverpool, he was the singer. George Harrison was born on 25 February 1943 in Liverpool and he died on 29 November 2001 in Los Angeles. Ringo Starr was born on 7 July 1940 in Liverpool, it’s the drummer. The Beatles was one of the most popular group in the world.

The history of the Beatles :

The beginnings ( 1957-1963)

Paul Mc Cartney and John Lennon meet at a party and decide to form a band. Shortly afterwards, George Harrisson joined them, also on the guitar. To them three they play in clubs of Liverpool. They hire a drummer named Pete Best, who they are not satisfied with. When they record their first record, they ask a drummer named Ringo Starr to replace Pete Best. In 1962 and 1963, they met their first successes with the albums "Please, please me" and "With the Beatles".

The Beatlemania (1964-1966):

The Beatlemania is the period when the Beatles are gaining popularity in England: they have a solidarity fan-club and they make headlines in all the newspapers. As early as 1964, the Beatlemania was exported all over Europe and then to the United States, in all these countries they were very successful.  Their best known songs of this period are: "A Hard Day's Night" (1964) and "Help" (1965).

John Lennon announces to the other Beatles that he left definitively in 1970.

Why I like the Beatles ?

I like the group the Beatles because my father it’s a real fan for 20 years.  Since I was a child, my father always made me listen to their music. I was born by listening to "help". It’s my favorite music today. It is for my father that I make this statement.

Now, I will make you listen to an extract from the music “Help”.

Thanks for your attention.
