Space and Exchange

Nowadays, in all over the world, it's easy to travel in different countries. Thanks to the internet the communication between different coutries, has become more and more posssible and easier. The notion of space and exchange has become more and more important in all over the world. It's the reason why, some companies use some advantages of other countries for their own benefits or buisness.

First of all, all of this began with the fair trade in the 60's. Indeed, fair trade is a new trade that appeared in the 60's and consisted in giving producers around the world a fair and equal access to the market in western countries. This trade brought solidarity between different countries to exchange products and develop buisness. The main aim was to boost the economy of some compagnies and consequently of some countries. Thanks to this trade, the globalization appeared. In this context of globalization, compagnies in all over the world want to be the best, the richest. They want to earn a lot but spend a little.

For this reason, some of them use this notion of easy exchange in the world, to employ workers in other countries and pay them less than those employed in their own country. As an example, we can notice that some famous brands, like Nike, employ people in poorer countries like in Indonesia, or Asia or Africa, in their sweatshops. This solution helps those compagnies to developp and increase, without spending a lot of money in workers.

Unfortunately, with the globalization, they all want to spend the less, and sometimes they employ cheap labour and let them work in bad conditions. Indeed, some workers, even some children, can work more than 10 or 15 hours a day, for nearly no money. Compagnies often promise lots of advantages to the workers like having a flat, having money and so on, but in fact, they don't respect their promises. These workers gather in small flats and live in bad conditions with nearly no money. Children can also be employed even if it can be illegal, because it's easier to check them and make them do all the compagny needs... Unfortunately !

To sum up, as we can notice nowadays in all over the world, the notion of space and exchange is very important for people but also for compagnies. The easier access and communication between countries can help them to earn more money and develop benefits. However it can also represent a danger because of the methods they use, like  employing cheap labour in other countries in bad conditions of living.
