How Manchester city became one of the biggest club in Angleterre ?

Manchester City Football Club is a football club based in Manchester and founded in 1880 under the name of St. Mark's ( West Gorton ) . The club became Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887 before taking its current name in 1894. Nicknamed City, The Citizens , or , The Sky-blue ( The Sky Blue ), the professional team plays since 2003 at the City of Manchester Stadium . The Manchester Derby crystallizes the rivalry between the two major clubs in the city , Manchester City and Manchester United. The motto Superbia in proelia , inscribed in Latin on the club crest signifies pride in battle.

The club knows its most prosperous period in the late 1960s to the early 1970s when City won the English Premier League, the FA Cup , the League Cup and the Cup Winners' Cup , with Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison at the head of the team and players like Colin Bell, Mike Summer bee and Francis Lee.

After 35 years without any trophy, Manchester City won the FA Cup in 2011. The following season, the club won the Premier League, the first league title for 44 years. In 2014 , Manchester City won the League Cup and a second championship of England.

City wins his first title by winning the Second Division in 1899, a title that earned him his first ascension to the highest level of English football, the First Division. The first major title of the club won 23 April 1904, beating Bolton Wanderers 1-0 at Crystal Palace in the final of the FA Cup4. During the summer of 2008, City was bought by an investment fund of Abu Dhabi, and Khaldoon Al Mubarak became the new president of the club. The same week, the club qualifies in the Champions League for the first time since 1968 by winning 1-0 Tottenham30 face. On the last day of the championship, City than Arsenal and finished third in the standings, securing a direct qualification for the Champions League. During this season, City beat the record of debt created by a football club in 1 years.
