Myths and heros 

Today I m gona speak about the notion Myths and heros.First of all i will give you a definition of this notion.A myths it’s a fabulous story, often of popular origin, which depicts beings (gods, demi-gods,  heroes, animals, natural forces) symbolizing energies, powers, aspects of the human condition.

A hero it’s a person who performs a very altruistic action in a noble cause.

So i will answer the next question which is : What is a modern-day hero and what impact do they have on our lives ?

During my presentation, I will use some of the documents we studied this year to illustrate my arguments.

1. Protection of nature :

Today, there are many ways to prove your heroism, like helping others or trying to protect nature.

To start, we will use the first document called Watchdogs of the sea by Greenpeace.

Greenpeace is a non-profit organization present in 40 countries. The aim of this organization is to tackle the most critical ecological problems on a planetary scale such as:

- Protection of the oceans and ancient forests;

- avoid disturbances in the global climate;

- Elimination of toxic chemicals;

- Prevention of the spread of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in nature.

the document represents an image which shows in the foreground a zodiac belonging to greenpeace, next to the boat there are two men hanging on a large platform which seems to contain toxic products. In the photo, the men hang a large sheet of paper where it says Clean up your Shell mess.

The photo shows us that there are still people trying to save our planets even if it can take risks

1. Wall street movement

the second document is a video called The Occupy Street movement. The video tells us about a peaceful demonstration which takes place on September 17, 2011 in the streets of New York. This demonstration gathers more than a thousand people in the district of wall street which aims to denounce the abuses of financial capitalism. in the video we can see people sleeping in a park to show their anger. They are angry because there is a lot of income inequalities.

the video shows the courage of people who are not afraid to demonstrate in the streets. People demonstrate for all American citizens but also for future citizens.

For conclusion we can see that the two documents clearly show the idea of ​​modern heroes because in the first document people are fighting to save the planet and in the second document people are fighting for their rights and those of others. The idea and that people are fighting to try to make the world a better place
