MUSEM MADAME TUSSAUDS

Madame Tussauds London immortalizes historical figures and celebrities in wax. The museum features realistic statues of the royalty of London, Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Diana and Queen, as well as literary figures and world leaders of the past and present. Spectators get along with their favorite artists in music, sports, cinema and television.

MADAME TUSSAUDS

In 1761, Madame Tussaud was born in Strasbourg, France, and is called Anna Maria Grosholtz. At 17, she began serving the sister of King Louis XVI, working in this post from 1780 until the French Revolution. Tussaud's uncle, Dr. Philippe Curtius, taught young Tussaud the art of modeling wax.

French Revolution

In 1787, Tussaud was imprisoned with that mother in the prison laforce of Paris. To avoid her execution, she began to make masks that show some of these friends as well as members of the French royal family. In 1794, The French Revolution was over, Marie married France Tussaud and inherited the wax collection of Dr. Curctius.

Marylebone Road

In 1884, Madame Tussaud's grandson moved the wax museum to Marylebone Road. He puts the work of his grandmother alongside the current people. In 1925, a fire destroyed the museum and it was not reopened until 1928. The museum had a cinema and a restaurant. During the Second World War, a German bomb destroyed 352 wax heads and the cinema.

In the 1990s, Madame Tussauds London created a series of special displays. In 1996, it opened a display of Time Magazine’s top 100 people of the 20th century. In 1997, the museum held a special exhibit of wedding dresses designed for Diana, Princess of Wales; Sarah, Duchess of York; and Sophie.

Modern times

Madame Tussauds continues with the event by showing the figures of Nicole Kidman, Justin Timberlake, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Britney Spears. The new political figures of the millennium with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and US President Barack Obama

My Experience

I had the chance to visit the museum of Madame Tussauds during a school trip. It's a great experience, I'd love to go back soon. It even allows us to see our idol and beautifull work.
