Freddie Mercury.

Freddie Mercury is, nowadays, considered like a hero. Indeed, he is one of the most famous singer of the time. During all his life, he fought against racism, discrimination... He had a real influence on other artists and singers, and on people more generally. The songs of his famous group "Queen" are known by everybody, particularly "We are the champions" which was used during the football champship in 1998 (The French won this edition). On top of that, the expression "The show must go on", which refers to his song "The show must go on", is, today, very common. More an hero, he is also a myth.

Freddie Mercury, whose his true name is Farrokh Bulsara, was born in the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania in 1946. He lived and India and he arrived in England in 1964. Freddie Mercury and his friends Tim Stafell,Bryan May and Roger Taylor created the group Queen. Freddie Mercury was the singer emblematic of this group, he was the leader. In the 80's, the group met its first success with the song « Bohemian Rhapsody ». Freddie Mercury was an innovator, that's why the songs of the groupe had a lot of success. He was also eccentric. He composed all the songs of Queen. Freddie Mercury could have been an opera singer. Queen fought for the freddom. Others songs like « We are the Champions » or « The show must go on » stay songs well'know nowadays. He was an VIH positive person. He died in 1991. He is one of the most emblematic singer of the 1980s-1990s. He was dominant figure in rock music.
