A few years ago , a worm has been discovered , The Great Wax moth , a worm that live in bee wax and have the faculty to destroy plastic .

The amazing worm "superpower" to destroy polyethylene within few hours , the hardest plastic dissolve that can take 400 years to dissolve and can resist to strong acid has seen in Breaking Bad.

It has been found by accident by Dr Federica Bertocchini ,a Spanish beekeeper who has put the worm into a plastic bag and found them out of it with lots of holes in the bag .

The scientist are working to replicate the saliva of the galleria mellonella and especially the enzyme into it to allow to naturally destroy the plastic that we use on our daily life .

The worm phase of the great wax moth has advantages ,it can destroy plastic without special need , just room temperature and we can find a lot of them .

This plastic represent almost 73% of the ocean pollution with atleast 5 billions tons of plastic that create island of trash . This trash dont only destroy our ecosystem but also our food , the fish eating the plastic and then us eating that fish .

It dont only affect the ocean but also our land and atmosphere by stocking our plastic in poor countries or by burning it . But if we finally achieve to duplicate that plastic dissolving capability we can make a great move for the planet .
