My dear Mum, my dear Dad,

I'm sorry I haven't written before, but I was busy. Since my arrival at Saipan, my world view have fundamentally changed. I’m so glad to be there because it’s an island which offers many opportunities. I moved into a small residence, alone, there is three months ago. I was quickly recruited as a dressmaker in the biggest industry of the city. I met plenty of other Chinese women among my new colleagues. Besides, they are so kind with me and some of them were helping me when you missed me so much. By the way, how are you at Shanghai?

I hope everything goes well for you. Maybe you'll be able to come here. Therefore, you will visit this wonderful place. I would present to you my new friends and we will go on the beach together. There are some children who are the same age than Fang-Yin. She could play with them if she moves-in with me. Contrary to what you thought, Saipan is incredible. You cannot imagine how wonderful it is ; buildings and streets are large and impressive, people are amazing…

However, I agree with you, dad, when you said that I will work harder. And the result doesn’t match my expectations. I am sometimes exhaustive after a long day at work. The assembly-lines has never seemed so boring. For instance, meal breaks last for ten minutes and no more. Moreover, the department head oversees all our doings ! This tense atmosphere and those strict conditions of work were unexpected. I wish it would stop…

Nonetheless, don’t worry ! Those disappointments are not enough to get me down. Like I have already said, “Nobody could stop me” and I am ready to work hard to realize my dreams.
