Since the begging of international commerce, actors are always looking for new routes in order to gain time, productivity, profitability.

We may ask if the reopening of the silk road is a source of opportunity or is it representing a threat?

First of all, we are going to focus on the positive aspects of this reopening. Then, in another part we are going to underline the negative consequences of it.

In one hand, this reopening is obviously sources of opportunity, the city all around the road have seen their economy grown, they are getting more attractive, their geographic location offers some advantages and can trade easily know.

In another hand, the fact that the roll out is getting through 8 countries encourage the relation between those countries. Unlocking the Silk Road will offer an alternative trade route between Asia and Europe and help bring progress and prosperity to countries along the way.

However, some drawbacks are along the way too, the local markets will probably be disadvantages against the road. Then the political and geopolitical aspects represent a threat, indeed the road is crossing 8 countries. They must agree about the different rules, normalization, custom duties. Agreements must be made but the personal interest might be source of conflict.

To sum up, the silk road has a huge impact of the countries related to it, economically and for their international relation. Otherwise, mutual work, communication and agreement must be done in order to success.

In our opinion, the reopening remans a good idea, having multiple trading roads is always relevant.
