Welcome to the journal of the high school Olympe de gouge. Today we're going to talk about The Maker.
It’s a short movie telling the story of a strange creature (a mix of plush and rabbit) playing a race against time to create life. It is a Gothic story. The Maker takes place in an inventor's workshop with a few nods to human invention such as Vitruvian Man. The film takes place in a relatively dark atmosphere talking about the two main axes of life which is death and time. The music that accompanies it begins at the same time as the hourglass. It is played in a crescendo manner and is composed only of a violin which itself will be synonymous with life for the creation of the rabbit. The climate that settles throughout the film is very mysterious, we only understand at the end of the hourglass the reasons for this invention. I was marked by the scene where the hourglass starts again and the loop with, we discover the magnificent summary of life which is: creation, education, evolution, love, death. The disturbing and mysterious universe of this short film reminds us of the stories of Tim Burton, I recommend you to view this short movie very striking.
