Condoleezza Rice is the first black woman to serve as the United States' national security adviser, as well as the first black woman to serve as U.S. Secretary of State from 2005 until 2009 under president George W. Bush Which serves as a foreign affairs specialist.

It was an important time in American foreign policy. She was not the first African American to be Secretary of State of Bush , Colin L. Powell , had held the job for a year in the late 1980. Rice was her successor.

She was born on November 14, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama. She is the daughter of a pianist mother and teacher and a pastor father. Her mother loved opera, thats why her name Condoleezza, derives from a therm used on sheet music, which in Italian means, "with sweetness". She grew up surrounded by racism in the segregated South.

When she was young, she began piano, she still practices often and plays with a music group this which explains probably the fact that she is a piano prodigy. She was also a gifted student because she received her bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Denver in 1974, her master's from the University of Notre-Dame in 1975 and her Ph.D from the University of Denver Graduate School of International Studies in 1981.

Following the election of Barack Obama in the early 2009, Condoleezza Rice set aside her political career and now resumed her academic career by returning to teach political science at Stanford University. She has never married and has no children.
