Microsoft Hololens

  1. Presentation

HoloLens is a head-mounted display develop by Microsoft. It work on Windows 10 OS, and it allow you to create and view holograms with glasses, then you can modify holograms only with your hand, it weighs 579 grams.

  1. Hardware

- Hololens uses a frontal camera of 2,4MP

- An accelerometer and a Gyroscope, positioned on each way of HoloLens. It calculate all of your moves

- It have a Intel Processor cadenced at 1 Ghz

- 2GB Ram

- the Holographic Processing Unit is a coprocessor manufactured specifically for the HoloLens by Microsoft.. The HPU manages all the holographic parts.

- HoloLens have a 2,3 MP display, used to manages the holographic and an ambiant light sensor to modify screen brightness.

 

  1. Use

Hololens has many different application, as seen in the video, you can :

- Watch TV everywhere

- Play videogames like minecraft

- You can see your creation with a hologram, modify it in live

- Communicate with someone with skype or other communication software

- You can create your virtual world, as you want, with the softward developed for HoloLens

- Lots of application are in development to make hololens better. This head-mounted display can be used in Business, and create many diferent way to work

        Many applications are in development

        - Holograms : a catalogue of a variety of 3D objects that you can place and scale around you

        - HoloTour : an audiovisual three-dimensional virtual tourism application 

        - Project X-Ray : an augmented-reality first-person shooter game by Microsoft in which the            player defends against a robot invasion

           OnSight and Sidekick : Software projects developed by a collaboration between NASA            and Microsoft to explore mixed reality applications in space exploration
