Farsightedness

I-Description

Farsightedness,or hyperopia is a vision problem, affecting about a fourth of the population. A lot of children and some of them with normal growth have this problem. It is characterized by the existence of a too short look. The image formed on the retina by a farsighted eye at rest is blurred, because from the observed target light rays converge in a plane located behind the retina.

People with hyperopia can see distant objects very well, but have difficulty focusing on objects that are up close. If you are very farsighted, close objects may be so blurry that you can't do tasks such as reading or sewing.

Warning , do not confuse farsightedness with presbyopia which also causes near vision problems but for different reasons.

But,what are the signs and the causes of hyperyopia ?

II-Signs and causes

There are many signs to know if you are suffering from hyperopia. When you work on compunter or read a book ,you have headaches, or you fell fatigued. In some children, you can see strabismus. An other, signs,if you need to see a near object, you need to squint to see these objects properly.

But what are the causes of this signs?

This vision problem occurs when light rays entering the eye focus behind the retina, rather than directly on it. The eyeball of a farsighted person is shorter than normal. The images focus slightly behind the retina.

And we have treatments, or prevention to correct the vision?

III-Treatment/solutions

There are three options to treat hyperopia:

The first solution is a common solution. With glasses or contact lenses to change the way light rays bend into the eyes.

If your glasses or contact lens prescription begins with plus numbers, like +2.50, you are farsighted. Lenses are convergents.

The second solution is a good solution but costs much more expensive. It's retractive surgery.  The correction of the farsighted is the Laser to induce a bulge of the central part of the front of the cornea Surgery may reduce or eliminate your need to wear glasses or contact lenses. In the subject of quarantine and more (> + 6 D), removal of the lens with an artificial lens implant may be indicated.

The last solution,we could have corneal implants. May be the future is this solution.Implants placed in the corneal stroma for correction of hyperopia, a condition in which the ability to accommodate or focus at near objects is decreased.

Also, we can't prevent the onset of hyperopia. But, we can go to a ophtamologist and to have a healthy life.
