My presentation today is on the effects of the loss of bees. Before everything else, to be able to analyze what are the consequences of losing bees, we have to know what is the role of these insects in the environment. Known by all, their main task is to pollinate the plants. Pollination is when a flower or a plant gets pollen so that it can produce seeds. Now that we know what is the role of bees, we can begin to assess what are the results caused by their loss.

First, pollination is necessary for plants reproduction, many of which depend on bees. Therefore, since the number of pollinators decreases, people will be forced to pollinate all the plants themselves. As a result, pollination will be very expensive. Today, experts estimate that the disappearance of bees in the United States would cost $ 8.3 billion!! Second, hand pollination does not produce fruits as good as those produced by real pollinators. Moreover, Dave Goulson a professor of biology at the University of Stirling said that hand pollination is effective only on 25% of       all the vegetation, since 75% of the plants need animal pollination!

In conclusion, the loss of bees has only negative effects. Their disappearance could be very costly. In other words, bees are a really valuable part of our ecosystem. Now that we are aware of their importance, we should definitely find a way to save them. Are they any questions?
